Net metering in India
0 discussions · answered by India's solar community
Net metering is why an on-grid system pays for itself: units you export are set off against units you import. But the rules — capacity limits, settlement periods, export tariffs, net billing instead of net metering — are set by each state regulator and applied by each DISCOM, and they change.
Members here have been through the application, the meter change and the first confusing bill, in most states. Name your state and DISCOM when you ask.
Questions this topic answers
- Net metering, net billing or gross metering — which does my state use?
- How long does the DISCOM take to install the bidirectional meter?
- My export units aren't showing on the bill — what now?
